Send when I can't log in I send an email to the admins and they have their IT people fix it. It has happened a lot to me.
I don't know but don't think that is why people change their screen names. for myself i would do it if i felt outsiders would be able to recognize me. When I first joined I was given a list of people in my area who belonged. Fortunately they no longer do this.

Veronica,
That has been my experience also. Ashley has always helped me.
I do have a few people who know me, and my anonymity used to be important to me, but no longer, because I am writing to my friends on here, and I need to be me! Except, maybe I am always being me anyway, a good brat.
Hoping that I have helped some people on here, because knowing them has helped me tremendously.
Yesterday, I threatened Book that if she didn't drink enough water, I would go get nurse Veronica and help administer fluids by IV. Lol. Were your ears burning?

Several times I've recieved the "HELLO GRANDMA" scam call, and that is such a bunch of baloney! I tell them "my, you have a very deep voice for a 3 months old GIRL baby Grandson!", or some such ready reply, which usually does the trick.

We've had a lot of "suspicious phone calls here to our house since my FIL died. It's scary, and makes me worried to even leave our house! We've never had a break in here, but heck, 99% of the time in the last 13 years, there's been someone home with my FIL living with us, and now that is all going to be changing, now that we can begin living our lives again!

My husband is going to beef up our security system, and we are seriously thinking about changing our home number that we've had for 30 years or so, which is kinda sad, but if you even so much as looked up our Rare and unusual name in an Internet search, my telephone number, address and even more vital statistics come up since I've done some online heritage searching.

When my husband's Grandfather immigrated from Norway, and came through Ellis Island, and Immigration changed his last name, butchering it into "Americanized" version and spelling, and did a horrible injustice to their once beautiful last name, and nobody ever tried to change it back. I wished I had kept my Married name now as this one is truly hideous, Lol! I Loved my very British Maiden name, but I'm about 33 years too late to change things now!

I'm thinking that we will just get 2 cell phones, as that seems to be safer route to go, and will cut down on the unending nuisance, scam, telemarketer, stalker, and phoney Grandchildren calls we recieve Every Darn Day! I've tried to use the block call features that you can attempt, but they don't work, or I'm doing something wrong, and my little 5# Charlie-girl isn't much of a burglary deterrent, IYKWIM! She can be loud, but not much bite! Lol!

I hope you are all doing great, and I'm headed out to do some misbehaving with my sister now at the Casino, and will hopefully come back to report some Naughty Big Wins, later tonight!

One fun thing I'm about to do, is listen to an old 60's Comedy album with my sister on the way up, a record we used to play over and over again when I was a kid of the 60's. It's one of those naughty adult humor records of songs by a Jewish comedian, her comedy style was parody, "sung to the tune of" type humor, and she's hilarious, though her name is escaping me at this moment, and she was pretty obscure to the best of my knowledge. I ordered the record from Ebay, and had it put onto a CD, so this shall be a FUN drive up!

Ya'll have a great day! 😉😉

I hope (whoever it is) gives me an address to mail it snail mail.

When we first moved here to Idaho, we received several calls from persons saying they were with Comcast and they had received an alert for my computer. I LOL!!, telling them we are no longer in California, nor do we have Comcast available here scammer!! They were persistent for a few weeks.

Been getting scam phone calls off and on for the past couple of years. Mostly fake IRS. And a person who wants to make me aware of "issues with my home." (Ha! If you only knew! Try living in this 90-yr-old-heap with 90-yr-old windows and 60-yr-old kitchen & bath.)

Infuriating. I always fire right back, delivering choice words to these bottom-feeder a**holes. At the same time, I think of the elderly w/diminished reasoning that these reprobates are targeting. And it makes me sick.

We were getting several a day which was incredibly annoying but found if you let it ring four times they disconnected.
Now time Warner has become Spectrum they have a service where they can filter them out which has stopped them.
Another thing I found out to my horror is that emergency services and possibly others can listen to your calls even if you have not picked up the phone. In a way it is good because they can monitor you in an emergency.
We found this out because i have just invested in an emergency alert which has GPS so when I push the button they can immediately pinpoint my location and I can talk to them if I cannot move via the base unit. When I go out I have to carry the base unit as well as wear the bracelet. The bracelet is the size of a wrist watch and looks the same but with a blank face which is the button. The base unit is the size of a small cell phone so easily goes in a purse or pocket. The whole thing costs a $1 a day if you pay for a year in advance. I invested in it after my hip broke when I was on a quiet country road. It is far more user friendly than wearing something round your neck. It is even waterproof. I would highly recommend this for anyone with a loved one who is alone much of the time and refuses to put something round her neck

Oh how many times I've recieved the "IRS" or "WINDOWS SERVICE CENTER", Scam Calls! Now I'm certain that once All of this Legal Closing of my FIL'S estate is sewn up, we are going to get 2 cell phones, and go that route, much less scam calls, I understand!

So Yesterday on the way to my Sisters,  enroute to the Casino for an afternoon out, I got Rear-ended at a Stop Light!

The man who hit me was Belligerent and So Incredibly Rude, trying to say it was My Fault,  when it was So Clearly HIS FAULT,  "YOU HIT ME AZZHAT!"  HELLO called me Filthy names, as I took pictures of the damage to my car, and his as well, his license plate,   and he scared the poop out of me, so I called the Cops, and my husband!

The Cop told him off for it, told him it was his fault and he sighted him with a ticket.

Hubby arrived to tell the guy "BIG MAN", but that's All he said, and the cop took care of all of the exchange of insurance information. Thankfully The Jerk does have insurance, Geico and interestingly, they have already contacted us and I will be taking my new Lincoln SUV (Waa!, my Dream Car),  in to have a new bumper and the sensors replaced. Thankfully that was all the damage that was done, that I can tell anyways and at least my Air-Bags didn't implode in My Face! But he became very nasty with me when I began taking pictures of the damage to my car and pictures of his license plate and vehicle as well. It was very unsettling, as I haven't been in a Car Accident in more than 30 years!

Oh, and I lost my Azz at the Casino to boot! Waaa!

I want my Mommy!!!

Argh!! Stacey!! I'm glad you are not injuries. Rude people don't want to be decent in these types of incidents. I'm glad you called the cops and your hubby in for reinforcements. Maybe next time you can go to the casino, you will be more relaxed so you will win.

We kept our landline and give out that number so our cell numbers are not used for business (businesses can't sell our cell numbers that way). We only answer the landline if we are expecting a call or recognize the number. Otherwise we wait to see if the caller leaves a message. Majority hang up when voice mail picks up. You may want to consider that an option to avoid getting extraneous calls on your cell.

So sorry this happened Stacey.
The right to take photos is protected by our first amendment rights, under free speech protections.
More and more people are going ballistic towards people taking photos. Keep a low profile, you did the right thing by calling 911, and hubs.

Ooo, the Microsoft Windows scammers!!! I hate those guys!! They called us recently, and left a number on our answering machine to call back. My husband is a computer tech, so he called them back repeatedly, just to waste their time and mess with them. I won't repeat what my (normally sweet) husband said, but it was AWESOME!!!!! BWAHAHAHAHA!

Ever since the agency I use for mom's private aides hired a staffing coordinator, things haven't been running as smoothly as when I dealt with the owner

Two afternoons last week, they replaced mom's afternoon aide who is top notch without telling me why - I assumed she was sick - there was a clear difference in mom by Friday - irritable even with me

Same aide does the overnight shift on the weekend, and she wasn't on the schedule for Saturday night - I was chatting with her replacement last night when in walks the regular aide - so we're all looking puzzled checking the schedule on our phones

Seems agency took regular aide off mom's schedule to put her on a new case 20 miles away - she thought I asked agency not to send her anymore - WTF?

The good ones always get taken. Let them know, after all these years, and your Mom's needs, as well as obvious decline, that you will not settle except for the best, the same aide.
Keep the communication lines open with that aide, giving her your contact info.
Tell her if they jerk your Mom around anymore, or mess with this aide, you will hire her privately. Who cares anymore what the agency rules are....this is your Mom we're talking about. imo.

We get tons of scam calls on our house landline ( for Mom), and she thinks you need to answer EVERY call... we can not get caller ID through to her! I tell the computer calls that we don't have a computer...LOL. I tell the million donation calls that either we cant afford to donate, or that we already have... and I hang up. It used to be calls from photo companies, for family photos.. remember those? I would act all choked up and tell they I had no family...

I must be rude. I used to answer those telemarketers and survey calls, let them finish their spiel. But after taking so long to get to the point, I no longer have patience. The minute I know it's a telemarketer or scammer, I immediately interrupt and say, "No thank you." Then I hang up.... One survey caller was quite persistent. I finally caved in. Ha! If I only had given them a chance to finish their spiel, I would have discovered I didn't fall under their 'so many people surveyed for this question, answered...' - because I didn't have children, I disqualified for that survey.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
MsMadge! I read your lyrics and almost got hooked on it! For the past few days, I've been humming and singing the words from the song: Pilot of the Airways... I only know the words below, not the rest of the song. I've been singing it over and over...
Pilot of the airwaves
Here is my request
You don't have to play it
But I hope you'll do your best
I've been listening to your show on the radio
And you seem like a friend to me
Book, I am the same way, I used to answer phone surveys because at least they added some variety to my day and gave me a little mental respite from caregiving, now... not so much. At least you say no thank you before you hang up, I think that counts as being polite!
