Being released from nursing home. Wanting to go to her home. I have work and can’t stay the whole day or evening. How many hours and price per hour as she is on Medicaid not sure if this could be covered as well as she is in Hospuce for rehab after breaking left numerous which delayed healing for hip surgery
You wish to hire someone to watch your Mom while you are at work and at other times? How would this be budgeted since your Mom is on Medicaid which tells us her funds are limited. Medicaid is State run, thus each State has their own programs.. Usually home care is limited. Medicaid would pay for room/board/care if your Mom was in a skilled nursing facility. I know this is probably not the route you were planning on taking.
Are you planning on paying for a caregiver for your Mom? Please note the hourly rate, which varies from city to city, could be $25/hour. If you hire someone independent (not working for a caregiving Agency) you would be responsible for payroll deductions. Plus your Mom would need to get Workman's Comp policy via her homeowner's insurance, which would help pay in case the caregiver gets hurt on the job.
Good luck to you.
