Assisting Hands Home Care® grew out of a desire to provide seniors and others needing assistance at home, with the option that most people prefer – to remain safe, comfortable and as independent as possible in their own homes. Assisting Hands® emphasizes exceptional customer service and highly personalized in-home care to meet the needs of our clients.
The founder of Assisting Hands Home Care® is Dr. Gail Silverstein. Gail has more than 25 years of experience coordinating and leading health care programs in both the public and private sector. It was Gail’s understanding of the health care industry, along with the personal experience of trying to find assistance for her father at home, that led her to realize there was a serious gap in services. Out of this need, Assisting Hands® was launched to provide a better alternative for the elderly, disabled and others needing a little extra support and assistance to stay home.

Assisting Hands Home Care of Fort Lauderdale provides excellent assistance to my father who is 95. The aide is reliable and caring. She provides assistance with meal preparation, cleaning, laundry, errands and doctors’ appointments. We all live in the NY and NJ area. Assisting Hands gives our whole family peace of mind that our father is well taken care of from far away.

I hired Assisting Hands Home Care of Fort Lauderdale's services for my husband and they were great. From the very beginning I noticed these people really care about their clients. I called other agencies and they only asked me about how many hours of service I needed. Assisting Hands was different because they wanted to know my husband particular situation and recommended the type of care he needed based on their experience and our needs as a family. My husband loved the person they assigned to our case. He was not an easy person to deal with but she managed to make him feel comfortable having her around. In many occasions we needed changes in the schedule and they were able to deliver every time. A couple of times the aide had a doctor's appointment or was feeling sick and they sent us a replacement so we were always covered no matter what. Having Assisting Hands around was a great experience from beginning to end. They made our life, specially my husband's life, so much easier.

If you are ever in need for an aide who takes care of your sick parents, then you should try Assisting Hands Home Care of Fort Lauderdale. My parents were taking care of each other until my father fell and broke his hip. I have a regular job and my mother was not able to take care of him by herself. He is heavy and after the surgery my mother needed someone to help her take him to the bathroom, and get him dressed and take him from the bed to the sofa, etc. My neighbor told me about Assisting Hands and so far I am very satisfied with the service. It is a relief to know that a trained aide is taking good care of your parents when you can't be there. My parents love their caregiver.

I have nothing but words of gratitude with Assisting Hands of Fort Lauderdale. My father, who is 76 years old and is suffering from Alzheimer's disease needed someone who care for him as my mother is not anymore as strong as she used to be to take good care of him. A friend of mine recommended this place. He was also very satisfied with the caregiver they assigned to his ill mother, so I decided to give it a try. From the first moment I called I felt they were really interested on understanding my father's situation and understanding the challenges my mother was facing. After some additional research and many phone calls with them we finally set an appointment at my parents’ house and their Director of Nurses came to the house and performed a complete assessment of my father's needs. She asked many questions because she needed to find the perfect match for my parents and she really did. We started with 4 hours a day for 2 days a week but my parents were so happy with the caregiver and I was so happy seeing my parents eating healthy, taking their medicines on time, well dressed and their house cleaner and more organized that soon after we added another day and extended to 6 hours per visit. I have to admit that it was very difficult to convince my mother that she needed help, but soon she realized that between my father and all errands around the house she was working extra hard to make it possible. Now she feels less tired, happier and have time for herself.
