Sitter Services Include:
Monitoring the patient's condition, activity, appetite, bowel movement and sleeping times, as well as reporting any concerns or changes in the condition to the medical staff.
Being mindful, proactive and responsible about the client’s safety (fall prevention, helping to prevent them from exiting the facility, helping to prevent the client from choking when he/she is eating, etc.)
Informing and assisting the facility staff with the client's ambulation, toileting, getting dressed, feeding, and transferring, as needed.
Informing and assisting the facility staff in pulling-up or repositioning the client as needed (every 2-3 hours) to help prevent bedsores or pressure ulcers.
Informing and assisting the facility staff in providing sponge bath(s), oral care, and incontinence care when the patient is soiled (at least once per shift).
If applicable, helping to prevent the client from pulling out/tugging the apparatuses attached to them (G-tube, catheter, NG-tube, Oxygen mask, etc.)
If applicable, diverting or redirecting the attention of a client who is in a demented, agitated, confused or aggressive state.
Socializing and providing companionship to the client.
