My guess through the week, knocking on Heaven's Door.

I doubt you're being played like a fiddle if your mother spent 5 full days in bed sleeping non-stop. It may seem like that, but something IS going on if she's in bed for that long of a period of time. Get her a hospice evaluation asap, that's my suggestion.

Arimethea33.................Long time, no see. It is always good to hear from you again. This is amazing, and I forgot already the age you are dealing with here. I also can't remember if you have Hospice on board yet?
Remind us of everything.
Best out to you.

It's common to have a 'rally' during an end of life journey with an elder. Your mom could still be 'knocking on Heaven's door', just having a rally where she's seemingly back to normal, and then will go back downhill once again in fairly short order. It's impossible to say. Is she on hospice? If not, now may be a good time to call her doctor to request s/he write an order for an evaluation. While hospice can't tell you in absolutes what's going on, they're a lot better at calling these shots than we are.

Shortly before my mother recently passed away, I asked her hospice nurse how long she thought mom had left to live? I felt she was declining a lot swifter than the nurse did. The nurse said she didn't see mom passing any time 'soon'; in reality, she wound up passing less than one month later. The signs I was observing were more accurate than what hospice was, I guess.

Best of luck.

I truly do not know what to expect. Dementia is a horrible guessing game. My son and I witness here at home all the time.
She shows “ABSOLUTELY NO SIGNS OF IT WHEN VISITING OR TALKING WITH MY BROTHERS!!!!!!”
Very strange, perplexing.
