My mother is the spouse of a WWII vet. I am having a hard time finding help for her, she is 96. Is there a number that I can call? I have several and they have sent me in circles for months.

Sounds like your dad did serve in WWII. If her income is under about 8k per year or 9K if she has some medical expenses, you may want to check this out: benefits.va.gov/pension/spousepen.asp
QUOTE: The Survivors Pension benefit, which may also be referred to as Death Pension, is a tax-free monetary benefit payable to a low-income, un-remarried surviving spouse and/or unmarried child(ren) of a deceased Veteran with wartime service.

Blackwell, contact the closest VA hospital and ask if there are representatives of service organizations available. VFW and American Legion sometimes have offices at the VA hospital. Start with them; they help Veterans (and I assume widows) get assistance.

Michigan also has a state Veteran's office which was very helpful, and a local county office which prepared and filed the basic health care application for my father. So check with both your state and county.

If you need help on this, let us know what state you live in.

Check the VA website to see if the dates dad served make mom eligible for benefits. If so, start paperwork online then maybe you will get reliable information.
