Brand we use is Depend. My mom could be standing or laying down and it still leaks out sometimes, not sure how.

Abena Abri-flex Premium was the best we found. They almost never leak. You can find them online by searching Abena, and I think you can order there also. They seem like a good company too. They try to be as Green as possible while producing millions and millions of disposable adult & baby diapers. At least they show interest in the subject. Good luck to you:)

Tranquility and Prevail consistently make the top ten lists, try googling "best adult diapers".

The problem with doubling up with extra pads, pullups or briefs is that they all have a leak proof lining so unless you slash the outer layer nothing can pass though the soaked product other than what overflows around the edges, not to mention using two or three is likely going to be more expensive than using one higher end product.

(Something else to consider is taking her to use the toilet regularly during the day, that can help cut back on the amount of urine in her bladder)

One thing to consider is the fit, they can vary. Of course it shouldn't be binding, but it should be a snug fit. The looser the fit, it is easier to leak.

We had a issue with the MC wanting to use a looser product , because it was quicker to get up and down, because my mom was not cooperating well during dressing or toileting; but it really ended up causing more issues, because then there were more leaks, causing extra clothing and bedding changes.

Arg! We sure know about testing out bad judgement calls. We have a problem with mil not wanting to change her drawers. She stuffs toilet paper in the diaper and then, u see, she can just throw the tp away and not have to hassle with ever changing her drawers! Why, one single, panty could last 300 years! Super genius of her!! (s.u.p.e.r. l.a.z.y.).
Naturally, there's bits and pieces of peed out tp all over her bathroom floor - except for the times we find a fully loaded package laying around. I think I made a mistake by telling her they are really good "special panties" and not to worry about any leaking. Now she doesn't want to waste them. Come to think on it, who really has the bad judgement?😕😖😵😂😂😂Arg!

My mother ( completely incontinent) swears by Tena overnight. Sometimes she uses a Tena pad inside the diaper for extra protection. She is about 5' and weighs 185lbs so she needs the XL pull on type.

Mom uses Tranquility "overnight" pull ups. They hold more than the daytime one. She prefers them over the "daytime" version.
However, she's bed-bound. Not sure how they'd be under regular clothing, as the padding below is quite thick.
