Any ideas about what they think about?

My wife has dementia and is bed ridden. She does not read or watch tv. She will talk if spoken to but generally just lies in bed. What do they think about? Are they happy? I can not imagine life without my mind.

I’m one who believes that the essence of the person is still there and I’d like to believe they are rethinking the happier times of life

I think things just constantly run through their minds. With my Mom she talked. She would ask a question, I'd answer it and she would look at me like I grew 2 horns. Because he mind was on the next thought. I stopped answering her because she really wasn't asking me.

For a long time my mom mostly dozed or was in a twilight zone where she seemed only half awake, I always hoped she was having pleasant dreams 🤗
