after stealing $4,000.00 from what little money he has for his care? That is what these people did to my family.

I agree with pstie. You must talk to the facility staff first and confirm the issue with them. I had a word with the staff at Luvida Memory Care and they said that it is normal with the dementia patients to make up such stories.

Where is your brother living now? Is he safe? What are his close ties to people you mention, are they able to help him?

Did you get this information from your brother or from the facility? Dementia patients sometimes come up with wild stories.

Contact Adult Protective Services in your brother's city. Also, get in touch with the local Area Agency on Aging. You can get that from Google or on this website. They probably know about the whole thing, and your brother may not be the only victim. Also try to locate the elder care Ombudsman in his area.

I also live out of state. My brother has ties that would be devastating for him to break, and I cannot afford anywhere near me.
