Has anyone set up a camera to both OBSERVE and HEAR their parent when no one is at their house? We have caregivers but not 24-hour and we're hoping for a solution. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

If my children ever do this to me, without my signed permission, they will be summarily disinherited, and every penny of my money goes straight to an animal rescue organization! Spied on 24/7? No, no, no.

As another commenter noted: if they are that damned frail, get them to a nursing home, or hire more help. Or leave them unsupervised for the hours the helpers are not there, and, well, let the chips fall where they may.

when you are at the stage of 24 hour surveillence it might be time for a different stepped-up living situation

This might be a violation of privacy and/or a criminal act if you do it without their permission.

Also, observing and hearing does what? Who’s going to watch for hours at a time? Boring! If there’s an emergency, the house can burn down before you know it; camera won’t stop it. If dad’s in the bathroom and hasn’t come out for a while, then what? You run over there?

Generally, if you’re that concerned, they either need eyes-on help 24/7 or to be in assisted living or other care.

I'm quite aware of this. I specifically asked if anyone has put in cameras for observational purposes of their loved ones.
