I looked this up and for grub feeding it came up feeding tube. I could find nothing medically for grind feeding.
If you are working for a Company they can require their employees to train for anything to better serve their clients, I would think. Turning it down could mean your job. If you are certified through the State Nursing Board or other agency, I would call them and see what they say. In my state CNAs cannot handle medications not even hand it to a client. But there are Medtechs that are trained to handle meds.
To me, if legal, this training will help you better yourself and be able to get higher paying positions. I would question by going thru this training, will you be paid more an hour. You are being given more responsibility. More responsibility, more money.
I’m not sure what a grub or grind feed is? is she on a feeding tube? In Florida when I trained on my moms feeding tube only a home health nurse could also help train me if I needed more training (and only a specific level nurse) not all the nurses could but I just had them watch over me so I got more confident in it. So family can be trained but I don’t think a company can have a caregiver (hha or cna) do the feeding and for not the medications. Again though im not sure what a grind or grub feed is.
