Hi. This might be a strange question, but I’m hoping someone has had a similar experience. My 94-year old mom has Alzheimer’s and pretty much just wears her pajamas, since she spends so much time in bed. She can no longer tolerate a bra, but now that the weather is getting warmer I noticed she’s tucking her nightshirt or pajama top under her breasts. Does anyone know of a cotton-type camisole that has “cups,” but no elastic? I’m not talking about camisoles with a shelf bra, because they have elastic and padding and I’m positive she wouldn’t tolerate that. Any thoughts?

Camisoles are typically longer than bras and go down to at least the waist. From what you describe of your mother's behavior, it does sound as though she might prefer a soft cotton bra-type garment.

Some bralettes also reach lower than a bra with soft stretchy lace . My daughter has some of those . No true elastic but has cups. She says they are very comfy . I’ve been meaning to buy one and try it myself .

If she can't tolerated anything snug maybe try going up a size or two?

Hanes makes cotton bralettes. There may be elastic inside the fabric along the bottom though on some styles . They sell different styles on Amazon . I also searched on Amazon for “camisole with cups “ and some choices came up . It was interesting to see the choices , I may even try one of the camisoles myself 😃. I hope you find something .

I like the look of this one, Barb. I may try this one! In your opinion do you need to bump up size. In other words if I consider myself a medium, is it good to bump up a size?

Playtex 4745 is a wireless, elastic free bra that has pad free cups too. It's very lightweight and adjustable. Idk if it would work for your mom, but it might.

That's what I buy for my wife. She has lost so much weight her clothes don't fit and her bras are all too large and she falls out of them. I bought her some small size cotton tee shirts and they give some support but aren't tight or restrictive!

Boy, if someone comes up with the good answer to having a bra sort of thing that isn't a bra sort of thing I sure will be following this thread. I honestly don't know the answer to something without elastic in it.

As far as cotton camisoles, The Vermont Store carries any number of them. No bra affect to those, though.
