I would imagine that every hospital would now have the pure wick device.
I gave it a try when I had a heart procedure and had to lay flat on my back for 6 hrs afterwards. It was 'interesting' and I think if I could have relaxed my sphincter muscles I could have made it work. As it was, at least I could see how it SHOULD work, but you'd have to be quite incontinent for it to be a constant companion.
For one thing, the 'collection' device makes a fairly loud whistling sound--really off putting. Also it felt very, very dry 'down there' and that was unpleasant.
Speak with your doctor about this MS VM. We are an international forum of caregivers, but far as I know this device is available everywhere in the United States at least. Some doctors don't like them and feel they may increase infections. I have no personal experience with people I know using them other than short term in hospital after surgery for bad hip. Was a godsend for my friend, but she used for only a week or so at night due to trips getting up requiring application of leg braces.
