I’m looking for some easy/elderly friendly games for my grandma to play on her iPad. I need to mix up her activities during the day because having a tv on for hours and hours is really annoying. It seems that they are too easy/for young children or too challenging for someone with memory issues. Any ideas?

My mom has always loved to play solitaitre on her ipad. I asked the Geripsych if it was ok for her to play for hours as I was worried that she was getting edgy if she was interrupted, but she said it was fine.
She also has checkers, somethig called ‘Just Mowing’, and another (that I like!) called ‘Color Block’.
There are also coloring books online. What I see with most of those is that the choice of pen tip and width will make a difference in how the space is filled in- some choices let you autofill in the entire area within the lines with one color, and my mom prefers this as her hand shakes.

I just wanted to add that in watching some YouTube videos about keeping seniors with dementia physically engaged, there is now a "Montessori" philosophy whereas it is equally important to find meaningful things for them to do, like dusting, chopping veggies, folding laundry, sorting, light gardening...things that help them still feel like they are part of everyday life. We get so focused on the brain that we forget about the other parts of their lives. FYI if one has inherited the gene for dementia, no amount of brain stimulation is going to prevent it. If the dementia is vascular (not inherited) or from PD, same.

My mom is 91 and I got her a tablet when she was in her 80s. She still has a Lumosity subscription and does those challenges, as well as playing a variety of card games and rumi-q. Other "brain games" for the elderly are:
Peak
Elevate
Cognito
Fit Brains Trainer
Memorado
Eidetic
These are probably also an annual subscription like Lumosity. From an app store, you can download game shows, such as Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, and Family Feud. Hand-held electronic card games may work just as well.
