Hi, my name is Norie. I have recently taken responsibility of taking care of my mother in my home. Taking care of her has already presented several challenging situations. I love my mother very much and want to do the best I can to take care of her, in order to avoid putting her in a nursing home.

My mother has several health problems as a result of heart disease and type 2 diabetes. I would love your advice. Can you tell me, when it comes to caring for an elderly parent, what's your single biggest challenge or frustration that you are struggling with or dealing with right now?

Find Care & Housing
Nice of you to take care of your mom. Sounds like she comes with a host of issues. One thing to do is to NOT make caring for your mom your whole life. You WILL resent it, sooner or later. Make time for you and your mental health, physical health and your friends and other interests. Have someone come in to help so that you do not get burdened with all the work. It can really drag you down, especially with time.
