Can you recommend books dealing with dementia? I'm looking for fiction and memoirs, so I can relate to the emotions of those suffering and caregiving. I have read "Death in Slow Motion", a memoir from a daughter of a mother with AD, and "Still Alice", a novel from the point of view of a college professor with early onset AD. I recommend them both.

"Still Alice" was a wonderful book. I found it by accident at the library and read it very quickly. I know you have it on your list already, but I'd recommend to anyone else who hasn't read it.

A Bitter Season; The Departure Zone are two excellent reads about the journey through dementia and caregiving. I found the first extremely informative and i was able to relate to several areas. The Departure Zone is poignant; but humorous and you might just get a good laugh -- but if you are a caregiver or debating your role in caregiving -- these are good reads for anyone PRIOR TO CAREGIVING.

Of the dozen or so books I've read on caring for someone with dementia, my favorite is "Loving Someone Who Has Dementia", by Pauline Boss.

"Loving Someone Who Has Dementia", by Pauline Boss is great for learning about your emotions as the caregiver. I learned why I get so sad when my progresses...grieving mom's losses and my losses as well.
