My sister in law has a power of attorney and will not give any money for her mother to eat or for the house supplies and she has already cashed in the inheritance for her and her brother now she won't even give him anything what can I do also she has only been here 4 times in 5 months to see her mom and when she took her to get ice cream the one time when she dropped her off mom was so upset unruly and didn't want to take her medicine eat or listen to me at all about anything. Also I just found out that she was diagnosed 2 years ago and she did not have us come in here until 5 months ago when the neighbors were calling and the cops were coming here because she was on supervised now if that ain't abuse can somebody just please give me some info or if they've been through this tell me what I can do I do not understand what my rights are or if I even have any me and my husband are just at our wit's end
She CAN NOT do anything as the POA that benefits her. It is illegal and punishable by prosecution. So is taking her social security check.
Get the police involved. Ask them to involve APS because the POA is neglecting the needs of the person she is representing by failing to provide finances to feed, cloth and care for her, on top of the above.
Don't play nice, this kind of behavior needs to be dealt with to the fullest measure the law allows.
