So sick of these junk texts! I get tons of them about all kinds of stuff. I know about robocalls but now we get robotexts too. Grrrrrrrrrr!

I have read not to respond at all. Not even with STOP to opt out because then they determine it’s an active line. Same with answering phone calls, they know it’s an active phone number.

If I block the number they still get through by using another number. It’s exactly like robocalls. They do the same. Blocking calls with solicitation doesn’t work!

The Do Not Call list is a joke unless its been improved.

It allows Charities
It allows politicians
It doesn't work on robo calls because they dial randomly hoping to get a pick up.
It allows people u have done business with before.

I told one Charity to take me off their call list and she told me she was a Charity and did not have to. I told her she most certainly did.

I wholeheartedly agree that they keep calling and texting.

JoAnn, now I am getting texts to pick up packages! I haven’t ordered anything.

So many ridiculous scams. It’s unnerving because it’s continually happening. Grrrrrrr!

First thing I did when I got my last cell phone was to call the provider and disable texting, but they didn't do so.  However, I haven't used my cell phone for months and don't plan to other than for the next 3 months just for contractor and tradesmen contact when working on my father's house.

If I'm in a playful mood I'll answer landline junk calls and toy with them, but that can't be done with robocalls.    Unfortunately, this has become not only a major nuisance but a legal problem.

And tiring as it is, we still need to report the calls on the Do Not Call list so federal action can be taken against them.

Michigan has just taken action by charging two jerks who've been robocalling and harrassing blacks in the area, trying to prevent them from voting.     Yes!!  I hope they're financially penalized, prevented from owning phones, and jailed.

It's so unfortunate that cell and small phone manufacturers didn't bother to find easy, thorough and permanent ways to block unwanted calls or texts like some of you are getting.

GA,

Yes, we cannot respond to robocalls or text. It is such a nuisance.

That is crazy about preventing voting! There are scams everywhere!

I still get the phony IRS calls! I have reported them but they just don’t cease. They just get a new phone number.

I am going to look. I just updated to the newest model phone and not familiar with it yet.

My other model was ancient! Hahaha

I had scam texts on that one too!

There are apps that stop them. I have my Galaxy on "do not disturb". I allow only those texts and calls from my "call lists". Very few spam calls go to my voicemail. They usually click off once the VM answers. They do not ring thru. On my LG there was a special place for this.

We have T-Mobile and they prevent a LOT of these spam calls/texts from coming through, thank God. I get NO texts at ALL and only about 2 calls (if that) per day, sometimes I'll get no calls in a day............so it averages out to less than 10 calls a week and they're all for 'extended car warranty'...........which is super funny b/c I drive a 2002 Pathfinder!!

I have another network. That’s interesting. I suppose they are all different.

Scams. Just ignore them. The real problem is that they are working on many of our elders. At the end, before his death, my brother called me and said "I have to ask you; I know you will tell me this is a scam; but I keep getting calls saying they won't deposit my SS check because my account is compromised; could you reassure me it came into my account". He was still in VERY early possible Lewy's and was almost still 100% mentally, but he was just beginning to reach the point where he might bite on these scams. Very scary.

Yes, I do ignore them but they are so freakin annoying! I will be speaking to my daughter and I keep hearing the stupid text sound and miss what she is telling me.

I hate when people get scammed. Thank goodness your brother called you! It’s sad if a person has no one to guide them.

It’s a good thing that we have unlimited texting and minutes now. Just imagine if phone companies were like they used to be when we were charged for everything!

I can’t imagine not having a cell phone though. I don’t even use my house phone. I have a landline phone because of these crazy ‘bundle’ packages but there are tons of soliciting that call so I never use it.

I can see when they call because it shows up on television screen. I don’t have my ringer turned on.

I hate to think about people being scammed with these texts and calls. So sad.
