Christine, sorry as we are, no we really CANNOT help you. That is something you should call APS to help you navigate as far as your own Medicaid and your own laws and your own disability for your own state and what care it may afford to you.

We're caregivers trying to negotiate the answers for ourselves and for our own states.
I'll will tell you that it is rare for the State to allow payment to a caregiver that is a family member; it's also unlikely to be high enough to give you affordable rent.

That this is a partner to whom you're not married you may stand a very slightly better chance. but you would need to qualify as needing caregiving ongoing and he would need to qualify as capable of providing it.

This is something you should discuss at your local shelter. Reach out to your local council on aging and Adult Protective Services for guidance and a social worker to check what may be available to you and we wish you the best of luck and are so sorry for all you are going through.

You need to go to your nearest County Social Services Office. Call your County Office of Aging. There are services where you live but you need to call them. Adult Protection Agency too. I may start there, they maybe able to get you immediate help.

Sorry, as said this is a forum of ordinary people trying to care for LOs or who have cared for LOs. We are not service oriented.

This is a global forum of anonymous, private citizen/caregivers here for education and support. We need more information to direct you to the most likely and appropriate care solutions.

What state are you in?

How old are you?

What are your issues that require caregiving?

Have you tried contacting social services for your county to discuss options for you? If so, what was the outcome?
