Lively & astute animal lover that lives alone at age 70, is in need of socialization and caregiving.
I have neuropathic pain & balance issues. I use a walker on hardwood floors. Due to in-home accidents lately like falling, I am considering living in an independently assisted home, rent a granny unit, or rent a room in your large home.

You could caregive in the safety of your home. Or you could be a stay-at-home mom. Perhaps you are an empty nester. You need a 2nd income or you have no income. I would have a 24 hr safety net. I do not need any personal care. I would be willing to relocate for the right situation.

An Assisted living would be your best bet if you have the money. See if there are board and care places near you, they run cheaper. These are usually limited in the number of residents allowed.

Call your Office of Aging and see if they can point you in the right direction.

Restless, have you looked at Senior Apartments or Independent Living facilities? It seems that if you lived in a congregate living environment with a fall alert pendent, you'd be good to go.

My other thought is a scooter or electric wheelchair. Have you discussed that option with your doctor?

Unfortunately, this isn't a site for advertising. It's a support forum with members all over the world.
