Find Care & Housing
You may get money but you won't get social security, benefits, or even a living wage. It will be the most thankless job you ever have. It's 24/7 on call, with no paid vacation. If your parents can't afford to pay a professional to help them, what makes you think that you're going to be able to support yourself on the pittance they pay you?

mmurphy, the vast majority of grown children who are caring for their parents do not get paid.... unless your parents can pay you from their savings. If yes, it is best to draw up an employment agreement.

If your parents are unable to pay you, then see if they can qualify for Medicaid [which is different from Medicare]. If yes, then check to see what is available in your State regarding payment. Don't be surprised if the pay is minimum wage with limited hours. Also check for other programs that would benefit your parents.
