Find Care & Housing
Potassium I don't know. People with diabetes can get crazy when they're sugar is too low. I had a friend whose husband was Type I diabetic. When he started acting iritable and nutty, she'd tell him to check his sugar level. Sure enough, it would always be too low.

I've also noticed that my mother can get hot and aggressive when hers is too high. She is Type II diabetic.

For people who have poorly controlled diabetes there can be both vascular and chemical effects on the brain. These can cause both vascular and metabolic dementia. The metabolic dementia can be temporary, but if the insulin and sugar are not controlled for long enough, the brain cells can be permanently affected.

I don't know if this is the answer you were looking for. There is a lot more, but I don't want to put you into overload. :)
