I am in Florida and she is in Ohio, so I will be heading to Ohio. She was a Preacher’s wife, a wonderful woman. My parents helped so many with food, gasoline, clothing, meals - whatever they needed. My Mom was 97 and lived a good long life. She will be so happy to be reunited with my Dad. I will miss her so, and I am so sad I didn’t get to see her again before she left.

Becky,
I'm sorry your mother passed on but she will now receive the great reward for her faithfulness. She'll have an everlasting life with God, your dear dad and all the loved ones gone previously. No pain, sadness or any misery of earthly life.

Even though you're sad I detect a joyous spirit that your Mom is with the Lord she believed in and served. I can think of nothing better. We will all be reunited with our loved ones one day.

You'll know she's with you when you say a phrase that she used to say, do a task the way she would have done it, etc. She's in the spiritual realm and we're stuck on the other side. But you'll "feel" her presence in the years to come.

Be safe on your travels and may God wrap His arms around you to comfort you in this hard time.

My condolences. I'm glad that your friend is accompanying you. When my dad passed away, I found it very helpful that my sister(s) were with me throughout the whole ordeal.

Becky I'm so sorry for your loss. I too have lost both my Mom and my Dad, and it is a sad time in our lives. Before long, I hope you will remember all the wonderful times, and this will carry you through life, as it has done for me. I too came from wonderful parents and family, and our belief that we end up in Heaven with those who've gone before us makes me happy that my folks are together, reunited and living the dream in healthy bodies, and no worries at all!! I do get little "tingles" every now and then, and feel them close, so I know that they are never far away.

Again, I'm sorry to hear about your Mom! You take care!

Here is a poem by Henry Scott-Holland that has helped me when I lost people in my life. I plan to have it read at my funeral. May it bring you some consolation.

Death is nothing at all.
It does not count.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
Nothing has happened.

Everything remains exactly as it was.
I am I, and you are you,
and the old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged.
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.

Call me by the old familiar name.
Speak of me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.

Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without an effort, without the ghost of a shadow upon it.

Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was.
There is absolute and unbroken continuity.
What is this death but a negligible accident?

Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you, for an interval,
somewhere very near,
just round the corner.

All is well.
Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost.
One brief moment and all will be as it was before.
How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again!

So sorry Becky T. 97 was a great age and she had such a wonderful life caring for others. She will be greatly missed by many. Don't worry about not seeing her to say goodbye. She knew you loved her and may have wanted it that way. She will always be with you in spirit and may find little ways to let you know she is around.
