I viewed the “Premium Standard Incontinence Product List” at edocs.dhs.state.mn.us and it is unclear what the numbers in the categories mean.
The categories are Retention Capacity, ROA, Breathability and Re-Wet. What is a good score and what is a poor one? I learned from a person who posted on AgingCare.com that for Re-Wet, the lower the number, the better.
Categories that are not on the list are Best Acquisition (how fast the product takes urine away from the skin) and Best Total Absorbency. I wonder about the scores on those, too. Can anyone help me with this complicated topic?
OS and I are going to get several brands of adult diapers and try to see how much liquid they really can hold. ( A HUGGIES size 6 diaper will hold almost 6 cups of water and then it explodes, literally--this I know--on account of grandkids--so you'd think adult diapers could certainly do that much!) And mom doesn't ingest 72 oz of fluid, so I don't know where this is coming from!
As far as the BM factor---I just can't figure that one out. Luckily mother only goes once a day and she's like 90% making it to the bathroom on time. I know that will change.
