I applied for Medicaid for my mom and got a letter yesterday saying she had been approved for Medicaid to pay her Medicare premium. So what does that mean exactly?
Probably means that she qualified for the Medicare Savings Program. This means that the state will pay her Medicare Part B premium and it will not be deducted from her SS payments. Look for the start date. If SS still has deducted the premium don't worry....it can take 60-90 days in normal times for the data bases to synch up. SS will make it up.
