Does anyone know what camera/audio system I can purchase to allow my mom and I too see other in our different homes?

I did FaceTime with my mom to see others. Easy to do.

Facetime is easiest on iphones. Zoom is a fairly easy to use video program for computers.

My mom couldn't manage FaceTime/ smartphones , laptop/ zoom) video calling apps...so we got her an Alexa Show... You have to install Alexa App also on your cell and her cell to enable (I got my mom cheap smartphone from Ting just for this). Then "enable Drop In" feature from the app on your and her phone, and then she doesn't have to answer (was confusing for my mom). I just called her on landline told her I was dropping in and dropped in. She can do that to you also ..." Alexa, drop in on (your name)".
For me viewing her I used a series of Wyze cameras and they were excellent, but that's more for security not interacting.
Obviously depends on her tech capabilities... Otherwise Facebook Messenger video call would be my choice... but it's tough for the elders to figure this stuff out.

Amazon Alexa is nice and I can control her music too. I set reminders and we drop in on each other. As she became more unable to use it, it is still working for her. Drop in. And music that I can control. As well as reminders.

We use Amazon Echo Shows, Mom has often forgotten I’m not actually in the room with her and my brothers drop in from the car on their way to work! It allowed us to keep Mom in her home and independent for much longer than we could have otherwise.

Hi! We did the same thing. We bought a couple of these to go around the house. So we could watch my dad and he could watch us. Super simple set up. https://www.assistivetechnologyservices.com/CaregiverInternetMonitoringCameraSystem.html They have a bunch of daily assistive items that we have had to use for my Dad as he is well into Dementia. Maybe if this isn't it you will find something else on the site to help.
Best of luck to you.
Praying for the caregivers.

"The CallGenie video calling device was invented specifically for older people and therefore is the easiest to use. CallGenie uses the Skype video calling system to make calls which are displayed on the elderly user’s TV screen. They don’t even have to remember how to answer or end a call, it all happens automatically. Only calls from known contacts are answered. "
