My mom has metastasized ovarian cancer and hasn’t eaten in over 2 months. She has now recently stopped drinking and swallowing altogether. The spit also is greenish and has a very bad smell. She has lost a ton of weight and barely even talks now. She also has a lot of moments of confusion however has not been diagnosed with dementia. Has anyone else ever experienced this with anyone you’ve cared for?

Yes, your Kom should be on Hospice if she already isn't. Everything you have mentioned, especially the not swallowing means her body is shutting down. Mom is actively dying.

If she does have Hospice, the Nurse is the one who needs to be answering ur questions and being there more often.

Please tell me you have Hospice helping and guiding you and your mom.
Any treatments that she may have had for the cancer can effect all other organs including the brain.
There is a term "Chemo Brain"
Or it is possible that the cancer has metastasized to her brain. If that is the case that cold look like "dementia"
If you do not have Hospice please contact one in your area and ask for an evaluation.

What medical advice have you been given?
You are currently, of course, with no eating and no drinking, looking at eminent death. The confusion is likely due to organ shut down.

I am assuming she is on hospice?
Is that wrong?
I am assuming you understand this is end of life?
The color of the sputum is indicative of infection in the lungs, and may be pneumonia; this was once considered "the old person's friend" in that it did usher them to the gates of Pearl.

Please let us know what kind of care she is now getting in these last days from medical and Hospice. I am so sorry. Discuss this with them. They can give you other signs of the approach of death such as mottled and cool extremities, esp lower.
