Hi anajat, my Mom has restless leg syndrome and does that a lot! Maybe it is that. She takes Requip for it but I don't like it too much because she seems addicted to it--takes way too much, IMO. But I am not full time caregiver so I can only suggest and not demand. Let us know if you find out the source ok? Good luck!

Sorry about your Mom, Anijat. Has she seen her doctor about possibly exema on her legs? or perhaps you could use lotion or Benydryl to relieve the itching.
My husband had severe itching due to an allergy and we have Triamcinalone ointment by prescription to relieve it. Also putting support hose on her legs might stop the contact to the skin and scratching. Hope this helps. Itching or skin irritations are no fun.

My Dad is 90, and totally drug-free, on zero meds/chemicals. He has outlived all his eleven siblings and 5 nephews. They all followed conventional care of drugs and surgery, and are no longer alive. Dad only uses natural health care-- specific, customized, quality nutrients, chiropractic, acupuncture, and herbs, which are part of the National Institutes of Health, National Center on Complementary and Alternative Medicine. His vital signs, weight, blood labs, etc. are all excellent.

At one time, he started having pill-rolling tremors. I started him on phosphatidyl choline, and in 3 hours he stopped these tremors, which have never returned. Aricept attempts to prolong the action of the neurotransmitter, acetylcholine. I simple give his body the additional choline itself in capsule form, and the body knows how to use it and convert it into acetylcholine, without any side effects, only balanced neurochemistry. The preferred form is phosphatidyl choline, available without a prescription, because it is safe, made from food, which the body recognizes and accepts.

As different needs arise, I fine tune his nutrient needs, or nutraceuticals. We are natural beings; thus, the body appreciates receiving the correct, natural ingredients. Then, it functions as Nature intended; not how drug makers try to force it, control it, manage it, suppress it. I prefer to support and understand the body, not try to suppress its symptoms. Symptoms are just the body's attempt to alert the owner to the need to correct imbalances. We are what we eat, breathe, digest, and eliminate. Nutrients are simply concentrated food ingredients to support the body in its natural strive to return to balance.

He never meets his Medicare deductible. He never uses their drugs. He pays out-of-pocket, and prefers that over sickness and death, which are much more costly, ineffective, and terminal. It's an easy choice.

Consult with a health professional that is trained in Nutrition, and not by drug makers, such as a Chiropractic Physician or an Acupuncturist. Balancing blood glucose and neurotransmitters is essential for physical and mental health. Neurorelief.com is an educational site about balancing brain chemistry.

The body makes its own neurotransmitters for proper brain chemistry, provided the proper nutritional ingredients are available. Drugs are not designed to help the body make its own neurotransmitters. Only Nutrition can do that.
