My mom is the same. It's been this way for years. She also often complains that the very top of her head hurts. We've had her prodded and scanned many times. Nothing was found. I chalk it up to the failing brain.

She is not on a regimine of vitamins or anything? Am I right. Because people tend to think them benign and to give them willy nilly. They are not regulated but are anything but benign. I would run this part her doctor. There ARE drugs than can give this flush, almost like a hot flash. Niacin would be one, and for a while the whole fad was to give them to heart patients. Just look up her drugs for side effects to begin with; but worth running past the doc.

I don't know but if she feels hot, I'd follow up on that.  Perhaps a neurologist would be a good choice of doctor.

I would also use a thermometer to check her temp; your might be cooler, and that might affect how her head feels to you.
