My mom suffers from dementia and is having abdominal pain.
The dr’s can find nothing wrong with her. We have been to 2 urologists, gastroenterologists, and many trips to the ER and they can find nothing! Does anyone know if they have found any links to dementia and unexplained abdominal pain?
If all of the above are in place there could still be things missed, though I cannot imagine what. How is her appetite?
There are such things as bowel spasms and you may want to look them up. There is no way to identify them and the tests are normal. Might be worth a try of bentyl to see if there is relief of pain with that medication.
If it is upper pain, are there any symptoms of GERD? And again, assuming gastric ulcers are ruled out.
She is a mystery. Wishing you good luck with finding the cause.

Hope you can read through it and find some sort of resolution to this terrible situation.
One other thought.........any chance she's constipated? Or falling and you're unaware of it?
Good luck!!
