What Dad needs to do is see an Elder lawyer about splitting assets. Mom's split would go towards her care and when almost gone, Medicaid applied for. Once on Medicaid, Dad would become the Community Spouse remaining in the home, have a car and enough of the monthly income to live on.

Well, the thing he shouldn't do is move in with you. So don't even think about it.

What does your Dad do about what?
Are you speaking of how Dad will face life without your Mom?
Are you speaking about what Dad has to do for division of finances to protect some funds for his own care in future?

If you tell us your dilemma we perhaps can give some guidance.
Good luck to you.

You will have to give us a little more information before we can properly answer your question.
Does you dad still live in his home? Is he worried about being without his wife? Is he in poor health also and needs to be placed as well?
Until we have a more clear picture, there's not much we can say.
