We have not interracted with anyone, and have had no help. If we continue the way we are can we avoid the Coronavirus? We can live w/ broken and dirtier. We do practice washing hands and wipe down counters. There may be some germs, but they are only ours?

You sure are doing a good job. I applaud that. Are you having your groceries delivered?

I saw a story in the news yesterday on a questionable source site, that said the majority of seniors in NYC that got sick with covid-19 and went to hospital, reported that they had NOT taken public transportation. That question got interpreted by the press as those staying home still got sick. But, I think there are plenty ways to go out of the house, without taking public transportation. So, I regret that that information may be misperceived.

I'm choosing to keep as many restrictions as possible, like limiting my trips out of the house to pick up groceries curbside and for a few meds. For me, having the house super clean is not a priority. I disinfect surfaces and objects a couple of times a day, which can get old, but, I'll keep doing it as long as I have disinfectant.

I wish you and your DH all the best. It sounds like you are really committed to this and I respect that.

If you haven't left and nobody's come in--you are probably OK. I think this is an issue with a lot of elderly. My MIL's weekly maid hasn't been coming (she says she hasn't, but who knows?)

Is your state one that is loosening some of the restrictions? This is ONLY a thought: if you can find someone to come clean and fix up some stuff for you and THEY wear a mask and are disinfecting surfaces--would you take that chance?

I would! I actually have a 'gift' from my kids of a deep cleaning of my house that they gave me last year as I battled cancer. I didn't use it. Now I WANT to, I can't have strangers in to clean since DH is so immunocompromised.

Do you have kids you can run this by? My mom lives wiht my brother and one niece goes in and 'cleans'. Sort of. But it's better than nothing.

As far as COVID 19, I'd bet you're as safe as they come.
