Her aide fears it will open up and bleed. We keep her nails very short. Any suggestions on ways to keep her from obsessively picking at her mole? Would putting A&D ointment on her nose help, or a bandaid?

I have not been around dementia for years however, my dad has one on his arm that he swears is a tick. Every morning, just before bed, and at times during the day, he is asking me to check it and that it must be a tick (country boy). I have to say it's just a mole and rub it to satisfy. Yes, at times, I do an ointment or lotion. So maybe look up what you can rub on a facial mole and see if it will satisfy her need to scratch.

Oh boy. If you can't take her mind off it at all, I would see a MD.

That’s a good idea to remove it. However many with dementia will pick regardless. She won’t stop until it’s removed and may not stop then.
