Does anyone have advice for types of hearing aids that aren’t too fussy and aren’t too tiny? I think rechargeable are a good idea but the less bells and whistles at this point the better. High tech is not her strong point if you know what I mean. She has a helper every day but left on her own enough to lose things and get things out of whack.
On which point, it's often buying exactly the right batteries and fitting them correctly that's the issue. It's the fiddliest bit, certainly, once you've got over the initial challenge of putting the aids into the ears in the right way up and the right way round. So that does tick a box for rechargeables, as long as the charging process is manageable.
How long had she had the ones she's just lost? If it's for any length of time and she was doing well with them, it might be best to go for as close a match as possible - depending on how you believe the last pair came to grief.
Do you have a good idea what became of them?
