New to this as a caregiver, what should I expect based on my circumstances?
My wife was diagnosed in 2014 with Stage IIIc ovarian cancer. Spread to brain 2016. Whole brain radiation attempted to save her life, August 2016. Radiation was successful but the long term effects are devastating. Cannot walk now. Becoming anti-social. Needs 24/7 care for bathing, eating, toileting, dressing etc. Has, what I believe, is some sundowners issues in mid-afternoon. Starting to become agitated at times.
Wondering where we are based on stages of dementia or Alzheimer's? Since the dementia and physical mobility issues are all radiation induced, I just don't know where we are with lifespan, etc.
On hospice which is very helpful, ongoing confusion which is worsening. Today she didn't know where she was and talked about seeing "Mom". Mom died 4 years ago.
