My mom has been complaining about seeing large insects on the wall of her bedroom middle of the night. She says they disappear when she wants to take a picture of them. Has anyone had this issue? I know there’s more to come.:/ My sweet lady is 85.
My mom who's has dementia had this same problem. This is when I discovered this awesome forum and asked this same question, all answers were she needed to be tested for UTI so I took her to her doctor, Lab work was done and she did have a UTI. Doc prescribed antibiotics and no more seeing bugs. Happy New Year everyone. Hope you get the same results.
Ugh it’s really scary to watch those hallucinations. That was the worst. Have her tested for a UTI and dehydration. Mom used to see flowers on the carpet and would try to pick them when she had a UTI. You can do a home AZO text from the drugstore as a quick check, then call her doctor.
This is not uncommon in some disease, like Parkinsons or as a side effect of meds. What are her underlying health conditions? Talk to her.doctor. If they don't alarm her it is no big deal.
I sure hope so. We are going to her general Dr in 3 days. Mom has no mental health issues but diabetes, and bad kidneys. Her high blood pressure n cholesterol are controlled with meds.
True, I also thought of that. We checked eyes about a month ago though. Mom is diabetic So we go to eye dr regularly. She explains about them coming in and out of a little hole that disappears afterwards!,
Dehydration, UTI as suggested could also be the problem.
