This is a new behavior, and the next day when we talk about it she realizes that the Even though she realizes the reality the next day, she cannot be consoled at night. I will put her back to bed 3 or 4 times a night. Any ideas about what might be happening? She is 89, and her health is about a 7 out of 10 I guesstimate.

Find Care & Housing
An infection is a possibility, especially a urinary tract infection (UTI). Medication issues could cause this behavior, as well. Of course, dementia could be a cause. The bottom line is that she needs to see a doctor soon to have a complete exam. If she has a UTI and they treat it, she may be just fine. If she is starting to show signs of dementia, they may want to prescribe drugs to help.
Take care,
Carol
