I used to catch a cold maybe once every 6-7 years and it would just be the sniffles and a couple of nights of poor sleep. Within the last 4 years I've caught the bug once; last year it was 2X; and they have kicked my butt. They've been so bad that it I was in bed for 3 days straight, sweating thru 3 pairs of sweats, nearly impossible to breathe thru my nose, watery eyes that looked like I was crying for a week, couldn't keep anything down but plain toast dipped in homemade chicken broth (I make & freeze my own stock ahead of time for Mom and now for me when I get sick) and dizzy for the entire week of sicko hell week. The worst was the first time I got these sudden "shocks" every time I moved faster than a snail & it Did feel like getting shocked, from head to toe and the throbbing in throat and tongue. I could feel my pulse in my tongue and that was weird the first time. It's now to the point that a few days before I take Mom to her Dr appt, I start taking cold meds to feebly attempt to stop from catching one. Yah, I took her Friday and yesterday I woke up with my nose stuck to the pillow. Looks like I'm going to miss work this week. Does anyone have a mobile plastic bubble I can use? haha *cough*

Yep, same here. I haven't had a cold in probably 8-10 years. Husband with PD came down with a cold and within a week I had it, too. A nightmare because he drools constantly so bodily fluids are everywhere and I can't clean and disinfect enough to prevent spread. I am slowly getting better, but wake up choking on drainage down the back of my throat, can't breath, swallow, miserable. Then have to take care of him on top of that. Feel your pain, hoping for a speedy recovery for both of us :) Feel sure that stress is the instigator, wearing down our natural immunity.

Stress will weaken your immune system. Plus the Flu was bad last Season. I had it and last time I had it was when I was 20, I was 68.
