Has advanced Parkinson's with Dementia. Should I bring him home?

I'm sure there are more people out there who have your conundrum.

Is DH completely recovered from COVID? If not, bringing him home will then expose you and any CG's to the virus.

At least with the dementia--he isn't really aware of the situation he's in--that sounds awful, but maybe he isn't 'suffering' as much as you might think.

The weight loss is likely due to both COVID and the natural progression of Parkinson's. What stage is he in? Towards the end of my dad's death from Parkinson's, he could no longer swallow anything other than liquids, not even Ensure or something. Water and juices only, and half the time those came back up. I don't know how much weight he lost in the last few weeks..30 lbs?

Dad could get a raging tooth abscess and not feel a thing. The dementia just took him to a place we couldn't get to.

Think long and hard before you bring DH home. It could be more than you can handle. But I wish you wisdom in making whatever choice is right for you.

Wow! Have you been in contact with the staff/administrators to ask what’s going on? I would also contact the house doctor and even your own doctors regarding this. What reasons have they given you for this decline. My husband lost weight when he was in the hospital and rehab as well although he wasn’t diagnosed with Coronavirus.

You need to make some noise at the rehab and don’t stop until you get answers.
