I assume this pertains to Mom? Is she a Vet? If so, why do you think the military can help her? Its very hard to get into their nursing homes. Especially if a Spouse of a serviceman. They take Vets with service related problems before anyone else. If a spouse, you do not have access to VA hospitals and doctors. Only Vets do.

If Mom is the Ward of the State, Medicaid is taking care of her. Have you found out who her guardian is? If not you need to. Anything pertaining to Mom and her care goes through that person. You can ask but the guardian has the last say.

If "State has guardianship" I cannot imagine what you are speaking of as regards "the Military".
Unless the person you are referencing is a currently (underlined) serving member of the military forces, the military has nothing to do with their care at this time.

Relax and allow the State to do its job of caring management. If there is any involvement here as to "the Military" then the State will address that as they will all other things. You can let the state Fiduciary know of any prior military service. Provide all documentation if you have access and if it is requested.

The point here is that you are not involved at this point other than to be the loving child.
That's a GOOD THING. Relax and visit and cooperate with any questions the State Fiduciary has for you. Good luck.

Please clarify your question:

Which state is this person living in?

Are you the ward or are you someone else wanting to be that person's replacement guardian?

A second opinion on whether the ward actually requires a guardian?

What specifically was it that the person wanted from the beginning?

Is the person/ward in a VA facility?
