I wanted to thank everyone in this forum for the support that I received when posting questions regarding my mother's dementia from taking away keys to recently asking about MC. You gave me the courage and support to make some challenging decisions that were always in the best interest of my mom. She passed last night from a stroke, not dementia. We were going to have a future in MC that I dreaded so though I'm sad and I have a heavy heart, I am thankful that her mind is now free from the constant confusion that she knew was happening to her and she is disease free now. With gratitude - Judy S

Sorry for your loss. Take the time to heal and recover.

Judy, I am grateful with you that your mother no longer has to suffer, and is now at peace.
It is often a stroke, or fall that will end someone's suffering with the horrible disease of dementia, and I've been around this disease long enough now to understand that that can actually be a blessing in disguise.
I hope that you will now take the time to honor and mourn the mother you love, and do something really good for yourself.
God bless you.

My condolences on your loss Judy. I know exactly how you feel because my mother passed right before I was going to have to get her into a SNF with a roommate after 3 years in private Memory Care. I was dreading it.

Condolences on your loss, Judy. Your mom went before she needed MC which is a blessing in many ways. I know it doesn't take away the pain of losing her, but may be of some comfort to you, and as you say, she is disease free now. You will have more time soon for you. Know you have done well for your mom and find some time for you now

Judy, I’m so sorry for the loss of your mom. I felt the same way when my mother died following multiple strokes, just relieved she was finally free of a body that had become a prison. I wish you healing and peace

Judy, my sympathies on the loss of your mom. If I were in your mom's condition, that's what I'd want for myself. I wish you peace and healing from what you've been through. Your mom was lucky to have such and kind and caring daughter.
