What can I use to cover a bed sore on the buttocks?

My mom has a bed sore on her bottom. It isn't bad, but it won't heal because of where it is located. It just constantly rubs every time she moves. We have tried to use band-aids and they wouldn't stick longer than a day. We believe it is because it is in an area that constantly rubs on something. We recently started using tagaderm, but it only lasted about a day as well. Anyone have any ideas as to what we can put on it, so it doesn't get worse? She isn't able to sleep or lay on her sides, so she is always on it.

A bedsore should never be taken lightly, especially one that appears on ones bottom. There is such a thing called a Kennedy ulcer and it most often starts on or near a persons bottom, and it is most often fatal.
Please bring in a wound specialist to asses this sore and let them treat it accordingly.

Spot on advice for this OP. Bed sores can kill, and they can go down to the bone in days. The necrotic tissue can cause sepsis. The doctor should be notified, and a wound care consult should be called in. These are complicated by immobility and pressure as well as by lack of great nutrition. Not to be taken lightly.

I am with grandma here. My daughter is a woundcare nurse and has ran a unit. A small sore can grow quickly. Call her doctor and talk to his nurse. Ask her what do you do till u can get in for an appt. These wounds should be cared for by a woundcare nurse. They can see any changes that you may not notice, like tissue dying. Hopefully, there is a Unit in your local hospital. If your Mom suffers from diabetes, it really is important she get this taken care of.

Pressure Sores are particularly dangerous and serious.
They should be cared for by Specialize Wound Care Specialists.
If mom is on Hospice they will have specialized staff that will come in and care for the wound,.
If mom is not on Hospice contact the doctor IMMEDIATELY so that proper care can begin.
If you can not get hold of the doctor I think a Pressure Sore is serious enough to make a trip to the ER,

Can you maker her an appointment with the doctor? Or, get a referral to a dermatologist? In the interim, try Googling your question for products. Or, if that takes too long, look at the "Doctor on Demand" site for a Zoom meeting or FaceTime with vetted doctors.

Get her an appointment for wound care. The doctor can order it and they can help get it healed up and direct you to the best products for the area. This should be covered by her insurance, nurse and supplies.

I would spray colloidal silver on it multiple times a day and cover it with manuka honey and a large bandage, until the wound care starts.

Some areas just require frequent bandage changes.

I hope you get this taken care of quickly. They can be deadly.

I would not apply anything until it is seen by a Wound Specialist. Trying to get anything out of a wound can be painful
