New to the forum, first post. I did search for some answers first, but in essence, "What do I need to know about Silver Sneakers for my Mom and Dad?"

Mom and Dad now live with me, about 800 miles from their, and my boyhood home. I am attempting in the current COVID environment, to assess what I need to get them into, how much the costs are, and how programs like Silver Sneakers work.

PS aboutvSilver Sneakers!

When it is safe to return to in-person exercises, Silver Sneakers classes offer social contact as well as the exercise itself.

You can probably sign up for Silver Sneakers online. Membership fees for Silver Sneakers (or for the Y or a gym offering SS) are usually subsidized or paid in full by Medicare Supplemental or Advantage plans.

Silver Sneakers sends a weekly newsletter to members with articles about health and with exercise classes. Other Silver Sneakers classes can be accessed online. Especially during COVID, there are plenty of online exercise classes available for every physical level.

In my experience Silver Sneakers exercise classes are generally held in gym or Y, in person. The program is frequently covered by membership or health insurance. There are now also programs online. Try a YouTube search. Right now though don't go to a group environment until we're past Covid. Highly recommend these classes for seniors. I was going until the most recent lockdown in my state.
