What documentation would be needed as proof of being the sole caregiver?

It’s to show the military to get compassion and reassignment closer to home to take care of her, but i don’t know what documents are needed.

Google "US Army Compassionate Reassignment" and read page 2 of the document. It lays out very clearly what supporting information you need to present.
