The money is getting too close to the maximum allowed, what can I spend money on?

To clarify, the stimulus money is not considered income, therefore does not threaten Medicaid qualification.

If she/he is close to the max because of the stimulus money, you don't have to worry about it. My MIL received 2 stimulus checks during covid. We are struggling to spend it, but I would look to do pre-paid burial, giving "thank you" gift cards to select staff, and spend on any services for that person, like weekly hair or nail care (if in a facility). Bring food from their favorite restaurant, etc.

Short answer is “themself”.

New shoes or slippers, replacement clothing, recliner or lift chair, funeral, dental, eyeglasses, special lotions, magnifying glass, personal frig, better lamp, life like stuffed animal or doll, weighted blanket, really good gel cushion for her wheelchair. It depends on her cognitive state, living space and her abilities. Seasonal Decorations for her door, her room etc.

Just reading your bio and it sounds like you have placed your mom now. I hope you are feeling better. Big hugs
