Please don't give CBD, gummies, or the like without consulting the doctor (I am assuming you are dealing with someone with dementia). Cannabis poisoning in the elderly is becoming more common in areas that have legalized it. It can react with other drugs in the body and give unpredictable results.

I am not philosophically opposed to cannabis at all. My husband has found it very helpful - he used to drink at night to help him get to sleep and he has completely quit drinking (and lost weight to boot!). I tried one of his gummies to see if it would help with my back pain. Big mistake! I got very sick and had a panic-like reaction that really upset me. All this to say it can be a bad idea to experiment if you don't know how it will affect him.

Always discuss plans with MD. Not with a Forum of stranger who don't know anything about what is involved here.

CBD can react with other drugs and supplements.
You need to talk to his doctor or at least a pharmacist and make sure he is not on anything that will be a problem. (A recent seminar I attended the doctor presenting said if any medication has the "don't eat grapefruit" warning then the CBD may also pose a problem.
And make sure you are getting what you need. Not all CBD is the same.
There are 2 bases a Sativa that is invigorating and Indica and that is calming or relaxing.
And I suppose the other question is is the oil CBD or does the CBD contain THC
And know that it can take an hour or longer for any given orally to work. So wait before giving more.
Oh, and a drop is not going to do much.
You might want to stop in at a dispensary and talk to someone. They can not or should not give medical advice but they can give you information.

And if it's what they call a tincture, yes I see nothing wrong with a drop or two see how he reacts, but your doctor would no more

Does he not like sweets? It would be an odd person with dementia to turn down a gummie of any kind. I wouldn't be tricking him myself, besides, what do you suppose 1 tiny drop of cbd oil will do for him anyway??!
