Audio pioneer Ray Dolby died yesterday. He was 80 years old. He is the man behind Dolby sound reduction that we all so appreciate. No more pops and crackles in our music! Ray had Alzheimer's and acute leukemia. His monetary worth at the time of his death was $2.4 billion. Even wealth and genius do not protect against the diseases that haunt the elderly. I'll think about him today when I listen to my pop-and-crackle-free music.
Rest well, Mr. Dolby. Nobody will ever forget you.
