Anybody care to share anything that could lift someone's spirit, mood, if only for some brief moments in time.

I understand that in certain cases, it's not always possible. We have the jokes discussion, which I love, but we're not always looking for a joke, especially feeling drained, feeling down, there are other things that give us joy and beauty, like poems, quotes, a beautiful image, or an inspiring and moving video clip.

I need to see things like this myself from time to time, to know there is beauty outside our immediate problems.

It gave me chills and sadness to hear her story and witness something so beautiful from someone so young. Yes, I welled up. Amazing confidence to sing in front of such a large crowd...well, you check it...

In anyone is wondering what the translation is it's below; I didn't need to see the translation to know she was singing something so moving.

Here You Go
Listen to me, a wannabe singer
Talk about me, to your lovers, to your friends
Tell them about this girl with black eyes and a foolish dream
I, I only want to write stories that will reach you
and that's all

Here, here, here, this is who I am
Here I am, and even though I'm exposed, I'm afraid, yes
Here I am, both in the noise and the silence

Look at me, or at least at what's left of me
Look at me, before I hate myself
What can I tell you that other lips won't?
It ain't much, but all that I have, I've put it there
Here you go

Here, here, here, this is who I am
Here I am, although exposed, it's the end
It's my mouth, it's my cry, but hey, never mind
Here, here, here, here is
me, my dream, my envy, here's how I die, here's how I laugh
Here I am, both in noise and silence

Don't go, I beg you to stay for a long time
it may not save me, no
but I don't know what to do without you
Love me like one loves a friend that's gone forever
I want to be loved, because I don't know how to love my contours

Here, here, here, this is who I am
Here I am, even if I'm exposed, it's the end
Here I am, in the noise and in the fury too
Look at me, finally, look into my eyes and my hands
Everything I have is here, it's my mouth, it's my cry
Here I am, here I am, here I am
here,
here
Here you go

It's okay if this discussion fizzles out. At least I got to share some thing beautiful with you.

I like seeing people get what they deserve. Justice is beauty. It makes me happy.

That goes both ways: people who do good, and bad.

Don’t change so people will like you. Be yourself and the right people will love you.

“Should I kill myself or have a cup of coffee?”

It seems like a dumb quote at first but it makes sense to me.

Someone once told me the definition of Hell: “The last day you have on Earth, the person you became will meet the person you could have become.”

You're incredibly beautiful, and that's the least interesting thing about you.

No matter who it was that caused the problems in your life, it is ultimately going to be you who has to fix them. Might as well start now.

I see now that the circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant. It is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are.

@Venting liked some of your quotes :) I'm not sure some of them will lift people's spirits.

@Cover909. Are you under the bed when you're enjoying the thunderstorms? :)
There's beauty all around us and I guess this includes forces of nature. I must admit thunderstorms and the heavy rain does have a beauty about it, as long as you're in a same cozy place.

Hopefully they do lift :).
Even a little smile for one second, can lift. And you never know who will smile, somewhere out there, or who will find some wisdom in a sentence that leads to a happier, uplifting life.

“Breathing is the single most important thing that you will do each day. Let that sink in. Something so easy, thoughtless, and mundane is so important. I wonder how this relates to other aspects of our lives?”

I tried it, it works. I mean mindful breathing; not I've tried breathing.. :) otherwise I wouldn't be writing this.
