My elderly aunts, 100 and 90 years of age, are homebound and need to get a hair cut. How do I find someone to come to the house to do it? I checked on google.... no luck. I am located in Miami, FL.
I learned to cut my dad's hair, during the Pandemic and his decline, using You tube. Contact senior care resources and local cosmetology colleges. hopefully they can guide you to valuable, respectful, and loving "good haircuts". When I "googled" such a need.... I came up with pet grooming, as a result. Our loved humans deserve so much more.

It's not difficult, but it may not look totally professional at first. If you go this route, get a good pair of haircutting scissors, and clips to hold back the hair on top while you do bottom layers. Short cuts are easiest to wash, dry and style, if they are OK with that. You can also check with your local hospice to see if they have recommendations about sylists who will make home calls.
Yes, indeed! I cut my mother's hair for a little over a year. A little uneven at first, but she and I both got a little better at this each month, when she especially wanted the hair trimmed at the back of her head, hating to feel hair on the back of her neck. I made the hair cut part of a "day spa" experience: wash, trim, and blow dry her hair; then an Epsom Salts foot soak, followed by massaging her lower legs with a cream to remove dead skin. Then our usual light lunch of soup and sandwich, after which she was usually ready for a nap in her easy chair. She loved all of it!
Call the local nursing homes and assisted living places, see if they can refer you to someone. Call the local beauty college and see if they have anyone interested. Call local hairdressers and see if they have anyone who is willing to do it. PAY them for the extra work and don't assume it should cost the same as when you go to the hair salon.
My senior center and Town Housing for the elderly has a bulletin board with postings for hair cutting, color and style. They do not charge extra as they only travel a 3 to 5 mile radius.
Have you checked with local haircutting salons? Or senior citizen living centers? i was caregiver to my husband and cut his hair myself. If you have a health aide helping you, she may be able to trim their hair.

Reach out to the hairdressers near you. You might find someone who would be willing to come over after hours. That's what my mom has done for the last year plus.
Usually the locals will offer to come. When my Daddy was ill and our regular hair dresser offered that when he got to the point where he could not visit the salon then she would come to the house. This was not the big hair cut places this was a mom/pop salon. Check down the street I'm sure they can help you.

Can you wash and give them a hin length bob hair cut? Or buy some clippers and give them the longest hair cut using the guides on it if you want it short. They sell women's clippers with longer guides than men's clippers. It will give them a nice haircut with layers.
We are blessed with the most wonderful kind neighbors, two of whom are quite good amateur hair cutters. when I could not find a pro to cut my husband's hair both of them volunteered and both did give him perfectly fine haircuts. Don't know about other states, but I was told that in our state a pro had to have a "traveling license" to go out of shop to home to do haircuts. Our problem is solved by the greatest neighbors anywhere. (Many of my caregiving problems have been solved by loving neighbors. We are truly blessed!)
