We finally got the appointment but not for almost 4 weeks, seems like a long wait to get help.

If a Palliative/Hospice company can not come out for 4 weeks I would contact another Hospice/Palliative Care company.
I hate to think what the response would be if you needed an answer to a question or a Nurse visit if they can't get to you for that length of time.
Gut instinct tells me that the sooner they get you enrolled in Palliative or Hospice the sooner they can begin billing Medicare/Medicaid or other insurance.
Contact another company.

I agree with Grandma1954 below, that you need to contact another hospice agency in your area.
Back in 2018 when I called hospice to have them come out and do an assessment on my husband, they came out the very next day.
Something seems very fishy with having to wait 4 weeks. Call a different and better hospice agency.
